Description
Summary:Unconventional hydrocarbon has been known to be able to boost national hydrocarbon production and has major effect on the oil and gas industry. The idea to develop unconventional hydrocarbon has been popular since the US shale boom in 2010. People starts estimating the recoverable resource for each basin. However, there is never a single number to represent the recoverable reserve for the basin. The recoverable reserve is determined by the method used to develop the area. This paper will uncover the false understanding of a single number unconventional hydrocarbon reserve with a study from one of the most prospective shale basin, the Aifam group of the Bintuni Basin. EIA estimates the Bintuni recoverable reserve at 28.6 TCF. This paper will uncover the truth behind the fallacy of a single number reserve for the unconventional play and the forecast of future production profile for the basin if it
