<br /> <br /> Development of urban park is one important element that should existed in urban area. The trend of urban park development is currently led to urban park as a city ornament and able to attract attention from many people. The city government are competing to build urban park as main icon of the city. Bandung and Surabaya become the center of attention on urban park development. The phenomenology of shifting urban park as public space is essential to described. To describe the shifting of public space, this research try to understand use spatial explenation of urban park and explored actor network as well as understand relationship with urban park spatial. The methodology of this research is qualitative methods with multi cases and approach by using rhythmanalysis and actor network theory. Both empirical results is used for basis of policy making for better urban park as public space in Indonesia. The result of this research indicates there are considerable striking on spatial urban park as public space in Bandung and Surabaya. The difference that is going on closely related with grouping of actor network who formed in each the mayor and influence all spatial aspects of urban park as public space. Bandung leads in the development of certain members of the community to facilitate. In Surabaya, urban park develop as a space to consolidate social interaction segmentation by presenting public space which is inclusive. Urban parks as a room inclusive that can be the space interaction to various levels of the community and is still needed for the construction of city parks as public room in urban areas Indonesia. <br /> <br /> <br /> Keywords: public space, spatial features, rhythm, actor network. <br /> <br />
