The design of Sentul International Circuit is based on architectural drawings. These drawings will be used as basis to make an optimal design. Any changes that are made in result of design processes must consider the function of each object. In achieving the optimal design, there are several aspects to consider. In transportation design, these aspects include parking spaces, pavement structure for access roads, racing track and pavement structure for the circuit itself. Each of these aspects will be designed according to design codes. As an entertainment venue, Sentul International Circuit will need some facilities to accommodate vehicles. Facilities in the form of parking spaces and parking gates are designed according to “Pedoman Perencanaan dan Pengoperasian Fasilitas Parkir (1998)”. With the aim of hosting MotoGP events, circuit design must comply with official standards by Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme as the organizer of MotoGP. To ensure that the surface of the circuit is free from surface runoff, porous asphalt with Permeable Resin Mortar System is going to be used as the surface material. The pavement structure of the circuit is designed using mechanistic-empirical method with the concept of perpetual pavement which limits the critical strains. For access roads, pavement structure design refers to “Surat Edaran Menteri No. 12/SE/M/2013”. The results of Sentul International Circuit design are expected to meet the demand from the architect with the most efficient and effective design.

text
