Summary: | <p align="justify">Antenna is an important component in an electronic device related to electromagnetic waves in the form of radio signals as intermediates, including aircraft communication systems. The aircraft communication system itself uses several types of antennas to communicate with other aircraft or with ground stations. One of the antennas used is the VHF (Very High Frequency) antenna. This VHF antenna has characteristics that will become a benchmark whether this antenna can work well on an aircraft communication system. <br />
<br />
In this undergraduate thesis, an analysis and simulation of a VHF antenna on an aircraft is carried out to obtain the desired characteristics. In this era, to analyze the antenna placement (antenna placement) on an airplane, the software was used as a support. One of the software is Altair FEKO 2017. This software will simulate all possible locations that can be the location of this VHF antenna. The aircraft model used was the CN-235 aircraft. <br />
<br />
The results show that Altair FEKO software can provide accurate data results in the form of characteristics of the antenna so that the results can be analyzed. One that can be obtained from this result is the best location of the antenna that can make the performance of the antenna to be maximum.<p align="justify"> <br />
