Due to <br /> <br /> that reason, a furosemide patch was developed in this current study. First, furosemid gel was <br /> <br /> prepared using polymer, furosemide, furosemid solvent, plasticizers and penetration enhancers. The <br /> <br /> gel was dried at 60 C for 4 hours, then polyisobutylene solution (2.5% in n-hexane) was added on <br /> <br /> the top of the film as an adhesive layer. Evaluation of the patch showed that average weight and <br /> <br /> average content of furosemide patch were 1.643± 0.009 g and 98.70 ±0.46%, respectively. Tensile <br /> <br /> strength and elongation percent of furosemide patch were 0.097 ± 0.003 kg/mm <br /> <br /> 2 <br /> <br /> and 4.555± <br /> <br /> 0.055%, respectively. In vitro skin diffusion test was performed using flow through Franz diffusion <br /> <br /> cell and Phyton reticulatus skin used as a membrane. Penetration percentage of furosemide from <br /> <br /> patch was 60.02± 2.65% in 24 hours. Irritation test was performed in rabbit's back skin. Stability test <br /> <br /> was done in 30 days at room temperature and 40 °C and the results showed a good physical stability, <br /> <br /> although there was a tendency of content decrease. Furosemide patch showed uniform weight and <br /> <br /> content, its released followed Higuchi kinetic and did not showed irritation on the skin. <br /> text |
