But the increase of human activity has been disturbing the coral reef ecosystem, causing need for rehabilitation efforts. These efforts include coral reef transplantation, which makes use of coral’s fragmentation ability to plant them in other areas, which is an ongoing process in Pramuka and the surrounding islands. The success rate of coral transplantation process, which could be observed from its health status, requires monitoring. The purpose of this research is to determine the health of transplanted coral reef ecosystem by observing their coral coverage, abundance of reef fishes and species richness, and sea water quality as a supporting data. Observation and comparison was done in both coral transplantation areas and natural ecosystem surrounding four areas, which are South Pramuka Island (SPr), Pondok Karang (PK), South Panggang Island (SPa), and Marine Protection Area (MPA). Coral coverage was determined using 20m line intercept transect method. Reef fishes were observed using underwater visual census method with observation area of 5x5x20m. Statistical analysis was done by Principal Correlation Analysis (PCA) and Redundancy Analysis (RDA) to see the observation areas’ similarity, while scoring was used to determine the coral reef ecosystem health status using data of coral coverage, reef fishes, and sea water quality. The result shows transplanted coral coverage of 80.6% in SPr, 79.5% in PK, 73.2% in SPa, and 80.1% in MPA, which is higher compared to natural ecosystem in SPr and PK, but lower in SPa and MPA. Reef fish abundance in transplantation area is higher in PK and MPA, but lower in SPr and SPa, while the species richness are higher in all transplatation area compared to the natural ecosystem. Visualization shows difference between PCA and RDA analysis caused by the variety of reef fishes family composition compared to data variety of environment factors. Ecosystem health status of transplanted coral reef in SPr, PK, and MPA can be given status ranging from good to very good, and good for SPa. This result was backed by sea water quality that could support the coral reef life in general.<p align="justify"> text |
