This research is conducted to reduce PT Sawitto Indah Berkah’s operational costs. Breyfogle (2001) recommends Six Sigma’s methodology DMAIC to be used for existing product or process. Focus group discussions were conducted to find out PT Sawitto Indah Berkah's current business issue. Further analysis of business issue is conducted by Swimlane diagrams which are useful for breaking down each process in the Company's operations. Current reality tree is used to find the root cause of the business issue that results in one root cause,which is PT Sawitto Indah Berkah’s current operation is not efficient. This research proposed three alternative solutions to the company's business issues, which are: (1) Deactivation of pickup from operational activities, (2) Elimination of Co-Driver work function, and (3) Combining previous solutions, which will result in reduction of PT Sawitto Indah Berkah's total cost by 20%, 20%, and 41%, respectively. In addition to that, alternative solutions 1 and 3 could reduce PT Sawitto Indah's Berkah's process time on average by 22%. text |
