Summary: | PT Bio Farma (Persero) is a State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) that engages in

pharmaceutical products and medical devices field. As an effort to handle the risk

of vaccine supply delay, which is one of the company's highest corporate risk, PT

Bio Farma (Persero) seeks to optimize information technology-based supply

chain management (SCM). In 2015, PT Bio Farma (Persero) has implemented

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, but currently the system is still a

transaction processing system (TPS) so that the company has not been able to

perform direct monitoring of SCM activities that will enable the company to

perform analysis and make decisions quickly, accurately, and effectively. One of

the impacts that can arise is the emergence of material supply shortages.

This research is directed to design business intelligence (BI) system as a solution

to solve the company problem. Outputs that will be obtained through this research

are: (1) the functional and non-functional requirements of the BI system are

identified; (2) the design of BI system components (data warehouse, extract

process, transform, load (ETL), Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) and

dashboard) are made; and (3) make a prototype of BI system that can assist PT

Bio Farma (Persero) in monitoring SCM activities, especially in anticipation of

material supply shortages cases.

The results of BI system design are then verified, validated, and evaluated.

Verification and validation results indicate that the BI system design meets the

functional and non-functional requirements, compatible with software and

hardware owned by the company, and can be utilized to help solve the problem of

the company. Meanwhile, based on the results of the advantages and

disadvantages evaluation, BI system design can be developed to be improved

according to the needs of company in the future. |
