Geological mapping on the scale basis of 1:25,000 and geochemistry analysis of geothermal surface water was done to understand the geological setting and the characteristic of geothermal system in the research area. The research area is related to volcanic environment with association of northwest Mt. Koyakoya. Morphology in the research area is composed of ridge, hill and plains. Geology of the research area consists of four units, which are Tuf-Lapili Unit, Lava Andesit Pyroxene Unit, Lava Andesit Unit and Alluvial Unit. The volcanic rocks is known to be formed around Early Pleistocene and the Aluvium Deposition occured in Holocene. Geological structure found in this area consists of Irawuri Normal Fault and Kura Sinistral Normal Fault. Surface manifestations show hot springs with temperatures 58-810C and warm springs with temperatures 36-390C. The water type found in the area consists of chloride, bicarbonat-chloride and bicarbonat water. Based on the geochemical analysis, the research area has one common reservoir, which is Kura Reservoir with estimated temperature of 190-2000C and depth 1000 m. The speculative resource is estimated to be 23 MWe. <p align="justify"> text |
