Lifestyle that becomes the basic idea for design concept is the habit that have become the identity of urban society nowadays, such as hanging out and shopping. The site is located in P.H.H. Mustafa Street, Bandung, that is considered strategic because there are many functions around the site, such as educational buildings, offices, and settlement. This project consists of many commercial functions, such as retail, entertainment facility, and also supporting and service function. There will be a hotel development that is intergrated into the design. This project is potential to become a new icon of shopping center in East Bandung area. ‘Architecture as a storefront’ is the main concept of this lifestyle center that is trying to address the issue of functional and image of the building that is translated into some specific concepts. Furthermore, this concept is applied to several elements design. Through this concept, the design is expected to aswer the main design issue that is creating an attractive and comfortable atmosphere for shopping with a predominance of open space. As like as a storefront, interaction between inside and outside acts as a main aspect of design process. A very busy and dense urban context around the site become the focus in design approach. Total floor area is 18.384,2 m2 (without the hotel) and located on a site with a total area is 14.630 m2. This project also accommodates parking facility for 157 cars and 185 motorcycles. text
