<b>ABSTRACT:</b><br> <br /> SECURITY OBSERVATION OF THE PISANGAN BEACH <br /> IN KARAWANG REGENCY <br /> Fernando Rajagukguk <br /> MM 95003216 <br /> Departemen of Civil Engineering Bandung Institute Of Technology <br /> <br /> Pisangan beach is an object to go on a picnic which is situated in Karawang Regency in the West of Java Province. Due to the continuing erosion has caused a serious problem in settlements and roads, some of them has been vanished. The erosion happened when there is a movement of sediments from one place to other ones. The movement of litoral sediments has accurred when the direction of incoming waves make an angle with the shortline. The direction of movement of litoral sediments is from south east to north west. <br /> <br /> To find out the changes of the shorline, it has been conducting observation by using GENESIS Program (Generalized Model for Simulating Shorline Change), and the input based on bathimetri map and wave data. The wave data collection comes from hourly wind data from its vicinity where we obtained data from BMG ( Badan Meteorology and Geophysics Agency) in Tanjung Priok. The waves have been forecasting from the data and then it was changed to the waves data (hindcasting). Nowadays the conditions are very poor due to the erosions of the beach about ± 5 m in every year, these conditions should be overcome as soon as possible. <br /> To make the shorline become stable, we could make a security system for the beach and then make a simulation to get an optimum system according to the needs of Karawang Regency. <br />
