Summary: | In recent years, one of the most important innovations in the field of design for the aging has been the development of successful models for special units serving person with Alzheimer’s and other form of dementia. The goal of Dementia Memory Care is to maximize what resident with Alzheimer’s can do, so that they can live in a dignified residential environment. Assisted Living Residences are designed for seniors who are no longer able to live on their own safely but do not require the high level of health care provided in a nursing home. This type of senior housing routinely provides assistance with medications, activities of daily living, meals, and housekeeping. Assumed will be built in Bogor, West Java, this project will be financed and managed by religious foundation. The main constrain faced is to create comfortable and quiet ambience for senior living, to maintain residents security and safety, and to make residents oriented easily. Another challenge of designing this project is to maximize the optimization of curvilinear and elongated site, as well the potential green space directly adjacent to site. Bringing natural ambience into the building by enlarging the openings can make residents feel involved in outdoor activity, even if they’re only observing. A curvilinear building mass is designed as response to site form. To make residents oriented easily, building circulation system is designed as simple as possible by using combination of single and double loaded corridor. |
