| Summary: | The increasing number of the Christians in Bandung became the main background of this project. This growth is not followed by the development of Christians worship facilities including facility for retreat. Not only that, the increased stress level also make human need time to take a break from the daily bussiness and get closer to the God through retreat. This retreat center has a retreat capacity of 800 people divided into three clusters of retreats building. This retreat center also equipped with 400 people capacity church. The issues faced in designing this retreat center mainly creating a religious atmosphere, noise issue, flexibility issue, and sloping site issue. The concept raised in the design of this retreat center is to create a contemplative athmosphere. Contemplation is a situation where human beings began to reflect and contemplate their life conditions. With contemplate often arise longing for humans to try to get closer to the God. Contemplative atmosphere is achieved by using basic geometric form and split level for the building, focal point in the site, and lush vegetation. |
