Bandung City have proved to be one of the major and most attractive tourist destinations for many tourists, be it local or international. The abundance of tourist attractions in Bandung makes it even more crowded than usual in holidays and weekends. For personal satisfaction or gifts for relatives, shopping is one of the many activities not missed by tourists; factory outlets are thus very popular for apparel and accessories shopping. There are a lot of these factory outlets (FO) in Bandung that seem to keep attracting visitors every day and R. E. Martadinata St. holds many of these FOs. With the number of visitors coming every day the demand for parking space will surely increase considering these tourists arrive with their own personal cars. The lack of adequate parking lots provided by the factory outlets and the abundant availability of on-street parking spaces contributes to the use of road shoulders as alternative parking. This results in traffic build-up and ends in gridlock, since a part of the road is used for parking thus the overall capacity of said road is greatly decreased. This can also threaten the safety of other motorists and pedestrians. This phenomenon occurs in other places throughout Bandung, and the public behavior is a factor in creating a strategy fit and efficient to tackle the problem. This study aims to find alternative options for on-street parking on R. E. Martadinata St. Quantitative analysis is used to identify the characteristics and behavior of the public and then to identify the viable alternatives for on-street parking.
