Bandung Performing Arts Facility which is located at Jl. Pelajar Pejuang 45 and Jl. Maskumambang, is a Public-Private Partnertship project. This facility has two auditoriums with different capacity and is equipped by supported function such as studio, restaurant, retail, etc. This facility is aimed to show performing arts and to develop performing arts itself. These are severa design criterias for performing arts facility : 1) accoustical requirements standart, 2) building as a urban public space, 3) building as a Bandung icon. There are seven group of functions in this facility, which are : recepient area, performance area, backstage, education, supported area, administration, and parking & service area. The main concept of the design is urban connectivity. Urban theme is used because the project is located in urban district. This concept is applied in order to make this facility as a public space that is connected with every element in the city. Human connection is responded by auditorium as sentripetal space concept. Human and building connection is responded by separating circulation concept. Buildings connection is responded by plaza and boulevard. Building and urban connection is responded by façade design with transparency and lighting concept. With this concept, this facility is expected to answer needs of Bandung about performing arts building that qualify.
