Site selection for hotel business development at Pangandaran Region is evaluated by applying Geographic Information System. Geographic Information System is chosen, because it can integrate spatial and non-spatial analysis in order to get regional development direction in the future comprehensively. Spatial data used in this research are topography map scaled 1:5000 and its orthophoto map which is photographed on 2002. Suitable location for hotel is defined by overlaying maps of favorite location based on proximity to beaches, restaurants, retail stores, and inhabitant resident.</p> Proximity to the facilities is identified by buffer area analysis and then all those proximity maps are overlaid and assigned by suitability indexes. Classified map shows that 125 hectares identified as most suitable location, while 87 hectares of them allocated for any development. This fact indicates that Pangandaran Regional has a great potential for hotel business in the future. Joining hotels spatially with Map of Ideal Location derived by actual condition classification shows that 133 hotel or 90% of 151 hotels at Pangandaran Region already located at most suitable position. Conclusion of applying GIS in this research is that GIS makes hotel site selection more efficient and it introduces good performance due to high correlation between modeled ideal location and actual hotel position. <br />
