In the last few years, the existence of the South China Sea frequently cause international disputes. Starting from a unilateral claim of the People's Republic of China (PRC) with nine lines rupture (nine-dashed line or 9DL), reclamation and construction of military bases as well as physical infrastructure around the cluster of the Spratly Islands and Paracel. This nation also unilaterally determine traditional fishing area that begins to interfere with the sovereignty of Indonesia around the Natuna Islands. This research discussed the position of the Indonesian sea concerning to sea claimed by the PRC. The method used is to utilize the bilateral maritime boundary coordinate data between Indonesia and neighboring countries according to the treaties that have been agreed, then withdraw the line. From the line of the continental shelf that has been found, then compared with the line claimed by the PRC in order to know the intersecting area. After that, the calculation to determine the overlap area of the sea. The results of this study can be considered for the purposes of negotiations between the two countries.
