Summary: | Population growth and increased development activities resulted in the value of
coastal areas continue to grow. The consequence is that there are management
problems arising from the use of conflict. The problems in coastal area, among
others, welfare fishermen, resource utilization and sanitation systems. Settlement
environmental conditions of coastal communities, especially fishermen have not laid
out well so impressed slums. This is caused by the limitations of the public land so as
to make it difficult to build sanitation facilities to achieve a healthy and dignified life.
Sanitation problems, especially in the region of small islands is a problem that needs
special attention and needs to be reviewed in. The aim of this study was to assess the
carrying capacity of mangrove ecosystems, welfare fishermen and sanitation systems.
With the assessment is expected to help the community and identify the conditions in
the economy and sanitation. In this study using the criteria of the index components
of biological resources, sanitation component and component fishermen's welfare.
The results obtained by the application of assessment for the components of
biological resources is perfect, index fishermen's welfare is good and index sanitation
component is poor. Sanitation systems in Tanakeke Island demonstrated through
behavior that has been going on since the first such as defecate on the mangrove
forests or the beach, trash in the sea, road and yard. Habits that last since this first
for the island residents are not unusual and breaking, so that such behavior has
continued until today. |
