Description
Summary:Determination of wave penetration in harbours plays an important role in de- signing, planning, and operating a harbour. Here, we focus on the numerical modelling of wave penetration in harbours with three dierent layouts. The HAWASSI-VBM software is used, which is based on the numerical scheme of Boussinesq equations with a Hamiltonian structure. Simulations are conduc- ted for monochromatic waves and JONSWAP spectrum waves. The results show that waves signals obtained from HAWASSI-VBM are nicely compara- ble with the experimental signals. Moreover, their corresponding signicant wave heights are in a good agreement with error less than 15% for monochro- matic waves, and error less than 9% for JONSWAP spectrum waves. Hence, we conclude that the HAWASSI-VBM software is suitable for simulating wave penetration in harbour.
