Description
Summary:Special Capital Region of Jakarta (DKI Jakarta) with population of 9.988.495 people and with an area of 661.52 km² has developed in many sector such as in industry, housing and so forth in recent decades. This resulted a wide range of environmental issues, one of them is land subsidence which reported can reach up to 20-25 cm per year in particular time and particular place. This phenomenon will result in soil undergo vertical movement downwards so that if left untreated can make a submerged areas. The damage that can be seen, for example rift permanent construction and roads, expansion of area flooding, and damage drainage systems. Based on studies conducted by several researchers, the causes of subsidence that occurred in Jakarta is over extraction of ground water and load of constructions above. Therefore, the final project is expected to provide a clear picture of the effects of load building on land subsidence in Jakarta. The method in this research is overlay of spatial analysis, which is combining and exhibit simultaneously a set of data separately, which is part of the same area to identify spatial relationships, and Grid Network to simply observe the spatial correlation by considering the extent of the area of observation. However, based on the results of the study, load and density of the buildings relatively only have low correlation with land subsidence in Jakarta. Based on the results of the study, the spread of the industrial sector that are likely doing excessive water extraction are the main factors causing the occurrence of land subsidence in Jakarta.
