One-Pot Synthesis and Characterizations of Zinc(II)Tetraphenylporphyrin Using Microwave-Assisted Organic Synthesis (MAOS)
Zinc(II)Tetraphenylporphyrin (Zn-TPP) was synthesized by one-pot synthesis in which the metal ion is directly introduced into the reaction mixture, this synthesis was using Microwave-Assisted Organic Synthesis (MAOS) method. Infrared spectrum of Zn-TPP obtained for Zn(OAc)2 and pyrrole ratio (1:6) showed similiar vibrations pattern as Tetraphenylporphyrin vibrations without N-H vibration at 3300 cm-1, this explain that the Zinc(II) metal ion has been successfully introduced into the porphyrin ring. In this study, the Zn-TPP yield from one-pot synthesis method was 1,97%. text |

Zinc(II)Tetraphenylporphyrin (Zn-TPP) was synthesized by one-pot synthesis in which
the metal ion is directly introduced into the reaction mixture, this synthesis was using
Microwave-Assisted Organic Synthesis (MAOS) method. In the synthesis, a solventless
pyrrole/Zn(OAc)2 mixture and benzaldehyde/propionic acid mixture were introduced
into a glass vessel and heated using microwave until 1900C. The mole ratio for Zn(OAc)2
and pyrrole were varied of 1:6, 1:2, and 1:1. The product mixture were then separated by
column chromatography. Some fraction from column chromatography were evaporated
to form purple crystallite of Zn-TPP. UV-Visible spectrum of Zn-TPP obtained for
Zn(OAc)2 and pyrrole ratio (1:6) showed a Soret band at 423,2 nm and two Q bands at
553,75 and 593,75 nm, while for (1:2) showed a Soret band at 419 nm and two Q bands

597,39 and 643 nm and for (1:1) showed two emissions bands at 652,46 and 715,07 nm.
Based on UV-Visible and fluorescene spectrum, Zn(OAc)2 and pyrrole ratio (1:6) give
the best result based on Zn-TPP characteristic. Infrared spectrum of Zn-TPP obtained for
