Description
Summary:Ion imprinted polymers (IIPs) that can be used as a selective adsorbent of metal ions from solution has been widely studied. In this study, Sn(IV)-imprinted polymer has been synthesized using methacrylic acid (MAA) and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) as a monomer and crosslinker also use complex Sn(IV)-PAR with 4-(2-pyridylazo) resorcinol (PAR) as a ligand. The radical initiator is 2,2'-azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN). Sn(IV)-imprinted polymer which have red colour then were characterized by Fourier Transform Infrared analysis (FTIR) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). Then, the adsorption experiments were carried out to investigate the effect of different adsorption parameters such as contact time, pH, and polymer dosage. After optimum conditions of the various parameters are known, further application of Sn (IV) -imprinted polymer to real samples. The experimental results show that the equilibrium time of adsorption occurs when the contact time of 25 minutes. Adsorption capacity increased with increasing pH from pH 2 to pH 5 and decreased to pH> 5. The adsorption capacity tends to decrease with the addition of the polymer mass. Adsorption studies Sn (IV) -imprinted polymer to produce sample recovery value of 87.41%.
