Summary: | Lead has a high of abundance in the earth. One of method to obtain lead powder is by
electrodeposition. This study used two types of electrodes, aluminum metal is used as
cathode, while lead is used as anode, and solution of Pb(NO3)2 used as electrolyte. In
this investigation, the electrical current has been varied 0,25A, 0,5 A, 0,75 A, and 1 A,
while the electrolysis proccess is given interval time variation from 15 minutes, 30
minutes, 45 minutes, 60 minutes, 75 minutes, and 90 minutes. Variation of electrolyte
concentration is given from 10-1M , 10-2M, 10-3M. The powders is characterized by
XRD (X-ray diffraction) and SEM-EDS (Scanning electron microscopy-energy
dispersive spectroscopy). The diffractogram showed that black lead powder has a
characteristic peak of Pb, while the white-yellow one has a characteristic peak of PbO.
The EDS spectrum of white-yellow lead powder revealed 73,78% of Pb composition,
and from the black lead powder revealed 75,90% of Pb. |
