| Summary: | Bandung as known as education city and creative city with young population domination and talented artist. However, spaces for art creation and appreciation are very limited. Art history and artworks in Bandung have no good documentation and publication. Museum of Contemporary Art Bandung facility is necessary to increase society appreciation of high-quality artworks. This project goal and focus design are to design a museum as education, recreation, discussion, and appreciation and documentation of contemporary art space and supported by aesthetic public space with iconic building. The Museum of Contemporary Art Bandung project has ± 22.358 sqm area is located at Kecamatan Gedebage according to development plan on Bandung Technopolis project. There are design-issue and focus in project design, such as; image, ambiance, circulation, and security. This project is designed with building-form approach, based on two main concept, that is: 1)Diversity of spaces realized on the different characteristic of spaces. 2) Dynamic and publicity to give a place of citizen activities and flexibility in use. The main concept become references the others micro concept development. Design-outcomes are museum facility, which is iconic building, has ability to increase society appreciation of contemporary art and aesthetic-recreative public space. |
