Cadaverine is an amine compound that is required to synthesize microporogen of zeolite material, i.e. diquaternary ammonium cations. Zeolite is known as the most important catalyst in petrochemical industry. Herein, we report the synthesis of cadaverine via the decarboxylation of lysine using calcium oxide. The procedures of the experiment is done by mixing the lysine firstly, with calcium oxide that has been heated in advance and stored in a desiccator before. Then, do a few minutes of grinding in order to facilitate the reaction. After that, the mixture was put into a flask heater placed in a silicon oil bath and is sealed to prevent evaporation. Furthermore, heated using an electric heater for 48 hours. The temperature is measured using a thermometer mounted on a silicon oil bath container is converting the temperature 170?. However, at a temperature of 170? newly formed product, namely yellow solution 0,856 gram with rendement 24,64%. The resulting products were characterized using nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and gas chromatography. text |
