SYNTHESIS OF CADAVERINE USING LYSINE AS PRECURSOR FOR MICROPOROGEN OF ZEOLITE MATERIAL

Amino acid decarboxylation reaction is one of the important reactions in obtaining amine compounds. Cadaverine is an amine compound that is required to synthesize microporogen of zeolite material, i.e. diquaternary ammonium cations. Zeolite is known as the most important catalyst in petrochemical in...

Cadaverine is an amine compound that is required to synthesize microporogen of zeolite material, i.e. diquaternary ammonium cations. Zeolite is known as the most important catalyst in petrochemical industry. Herein, we report the synthesis of cadaverine via the decarboxylation of lysine using calcium oxide. The procedures of the experiment is done by mixing the lysine firstly, with calcium oxide that has been heated in advance and stored in a desiccator before. Then, do a few minutes of grinding in order to facilitate the reaction. After that, the mixture was put into a flask heater placed in a silicon oil bath and is sealed to prevent evaporation.
