Increasing industrial activity produce heavy metal pollutants that is harmful
to the environment such as cadmium. Most of cadmium, come from
batteries industrial, semiconductor; electroplating metal, casting zinc, the
manufacture of alloy, pigment of plastic and textile. Efforts to deprive of
cadmium from industrial wastes can be conducted by adsorption method,
ion-exchange, elektrodialisis, reverse osmosis, ultrafiltration, and solvent
extraction. Solvent extraction is a method that many used to adsorb
cadmium. However, the use of organic solvents in large amount that is

benzoyl-5-pyrazolone acid (HPMBP) has much used as ligan at extraction
process solvent a number of metal ion. Encapsulation can be used as an
alternative method to replace the use of an organic solvent it is expected that
more environmentally friendly. On this research has been conducted
synthesis of adsorbent with encapsulation ligand 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-
benzoyl-5-pyrazolone acid (HPMBP) into a alginate calcium (Ca-alginate-
