Summary: | Research on the development of metal ions preconcentration methode for Cr (VI), Cu
(II) and Cd (II) ions by Solid Phase Extraction (SPE) has been performed. Magnetic
core alginate as fungtional material has been synthesized and characterized. Some
important parameters for preconcentration techniques such as pH, contact time and
the retention capacity has been studied and evaluated. Preconcentration is done with
off – line methode, by contacting the sample with a magnetic core alginate and then
eluted with 1 M HCl. In optimum conditions at pH 6 with a contact time of 180
minutes for metal ions Cr (VI) and a pH of 4 with a contact time of 60 minutes for
Cu (II) and Cd (II) metal ions. Retention capacity of magnetic core alginate was
41.57 ; 84.55 and 28.75 mg/g respectively for Cr(VI), Cu(II) and Cd(II). This method
can be applied to the analysis of Cr (VI), Cu (II) and Cd (II) ions in water samples
from the environment with recovery value (% Recovery) > 90% with reusbility of
adsorben up to three times. Analysis with AAS obtained for each metal ion Cr (VI)
and Cu (II) in natural samples respectively is 1,4923 and 0,2729 mg/L, and for ion
Cd (II) can not found in samples. Cikilai River has been the subject of research due
to the heavily polluted by sewage and industrial waste textile products and from the
household activities surrounding the river. |
