Acquisition and Interpretation Of VLF-EM Data For Mapping Groundwater Contamination At Sarimukti Landfill
Very Low Frequency Electromagnetic (VLF-EM) is an EM method that utilizes source of EM with very low frequencies to assess subsurface structures. This method is related to the measurement of variations in EM field components related to subsurface resistivity. The location of data acquisition is at t...

This method is related to the measurement of variations in EM field components related to subsurface resistivity. The location of data acquisition is at the Sarimukti Landfill which is a waste disposal site for the Bandung area. There are four monitoring zones, one leachate pool, and one treatment pond. Field data acquisition uses VLF ABEM WADI instruments and data is obtained in the form of real and imaginary percent values. The data obtained are then interpreted qualitatively using the Fraser and Karous-Hjelt filters. Fraser data filters and pseudosection current density indicate variations in the conductive zone in each line survey. Data processing shows that the conductive zone is in zone four. text |
