project

the

Jakarta,

the
contemporary
arts
scene,
to
develop
themselves
in
art.
This
arts
center
will
also
cater
to
the
need
for
artistic
appreciation
and
also
encourage
the
public
to
be
interested
in
art.
This
arts
center
–
which
stands
above
a
plot
of
35,000
square
meters
–
is
a
fictional
project
which
has
the
Jakarta
Board
of
Tourism
and
Culture
as
its
client
as
well
as
the
Jakarta
Arts
Council
as
the
advisor
of
this
project
an
the
general
affairs
of
arts
in
Jakarta.
This
arts
center
with
a
floor
area
15,500
square
meters
will
have
an
art
museum
to
display
visual
arts,
a
black
box
theatre
for
performance
arts,
several
educational
facilities
for
artistic
incubation,
and
several
public
amenities,
such
as
retail
kiosks
and
public
open
spaces.
The
process
of
designing
the
Jakarta
Contemporary
Arts
Center
will
have
to
take
note
of
the
issues
regarding
the
urban
fabric
and
flexibility.
The
issue
of
urban
fabric
is
caused
by
the
location
context,
whereas
the
issue
of
flexibility
originates
from
the
contemporary
theme
of
this
arts
center.
The
concept
of
this
contemporary
arts
center
is
an
‘oasis’
as
well
as
flexibility.
The
concept
of
an
oasis
is
derived
from
the
idea
of
the
Jakarta
Arts
Council
of
an
ideal
arts
center
in
Jakarta.
Meanwhile,
the
concept
of
flexibility
comes
from
the
issue
and
theme
of
this
project.
This
concept
is
applied
by
designing
the
arts
center
with
a
landscape
design
approach.
The
geometry
of
the
building
mass
as
well
as
the
outdoor
spaces
will
be
in
unison
and
form
outdoor
public
spaces
that
will
give
a
unique
spatial
experience. |
