Lampung Cultural Park is a cultural center project runs by the Lampung province government that serves in preserving and developing local culture by becoming a place of expression and experimentation of local arts. This preservation and development activities are mainly actualized by the artists and the people, especially students. Nevertheless, there is no facility that provides the needs of both parties, thus the need of Lampung Cultural Park as the base of this cultural activity is deemed as necesssary. This project is located in Cut Nyak Dien Street, Bandarlampung and covers an area of ±2,7 Ha. The design scope consist of Lampung Cultural Park site plan, plans of accommodating functions, as well as the special design of the closed theatre as the main building. Dying activity of the artists’ and decreasing participation of the public become the problem of this project. The interaction of both sides make a key success for Lampung Cultural Park. Technical and philosophical approaches are used in defining the right concept to meet the main goal. The final concept of this cultural center project is to create a Lampung Cultural Park that serves as public space for the people as well as a creative space for the artists in which the local value of the people of Lampung is applied. Both space meet as an interactive place that becomes the catalyst of culture preservation and development as the main goal.
