Summary:Central Javanese culture is formed by a variety influences, from the kingdom period, religion such as Hindu, Buddha, and Muslim get into society, and also Dutch colonization. Those various influences giving some colour to the Central Java's culture and Central Java civilization. Folklore is a daily element that strengthen the cultural identity of society. Young generation that is growing no longer have a pride for their cultural identity. In order to return the society's pride of the Central Java's cultural identity, we need a Central Javanese Museum of Folklore as a platform to make dissemination of knowledge of the Central Javanese's folklore which has begun to disappear. Folklore Museum of Central Java that located on Jl. Dr. Radjiman, Solo has 2.8 hectares land area and 14,173 m2 building area. This construction project is funded by the regional government with the help of CSR's foundation from national or international company. This museum is managed by the Local Government that is helped by a committee that consisted by some humanists. This museum that is designed with traditional architecture theme can accommodate variety function, such as exhibition, education, performing arts, so then in the future this museum can be a place for preservation and learning for next generation.
