Description
Summary:The increases population of Indonesian citizens especially in capital cities such JABODETABEK cause density problem and congestion on the city streets. This requires an adequate system of transportation in the city and intercity. The development of urban areas, especially in Tangerang city has become more advanced and as an urban agglomeration area, social interaction and daily activities are not limited by boundaries that need to be supported by mass public transport system that is effective, efficient and integrated. Batuceper Station and Poris Plawad Bus Terminal are two public transportation buildings that could be potentially integrated. Accordance to RTRW (spatial plans) of Tangerang city and PT.KAI 2020 masterplan, the terminal and railway station neighborhood will be used as an integrated transport department to integrate various modes of transportation. The design of this Poris Plawad intermodal station expected to be a solution for disconnectivity problem and also can break the congestion of the city streets. The idea that emerged in this intermodal station design is to meet the needs of users to integrate several modes of transportation in the region and make it as a gateway for and to the communities surrounding. The concept of urban connectivity breaks down into the concept of movement by using analogy and functional approach. The movement concept itself applied as an overall building image reflected on the form, facades and also spaces in the building.
