Summary: | Jember city has Indonesian Coffee and Cocoa Research Institute (ICCRI) as known as Puslitkoka which is the only research center that developed the crops of coffee and cocoa. Puslitkoka has regional development plan called Agro Techno Park. Museum and coffee cocoa center (koka center) is one of its development. The author conducted literatures study, interviews to collect data and the needs of the project. Then issues and design problems are answered by design concept. The main project problems is how to design a museum that became Agro Techno Park Puslitkoka landmarks both the program and the buildings. The main concept of design is Coffee and Cocoa Agro Techno Park: Living Museum. Living museum has program that involve the viewer to join processing of coffee and cocoa that has been around since Puslitkoka built. The site concept begins with the placement of visitors and service lanes, and 5 block mass as coffee and cocoa beans metaphored. The circulation’s concept is indoor and outdoor green break area and "borrowing landscape". The facade using glass and natural materials such as stone and wood. All the buildings using wood structure rafters ridge meeting with a cylindrical steel and concrete columns, using the sloping roof respond to tropical climate that adopted from Japan Makino Botanical Garden Museum ‘s structures. Generally, the museum and the koka center consists 2-floor 5 buildings; two main buildings that is museum and the koka center, café / giftshop / amenities, and two office buildings. Museum and koka center was built on a land area of 3.07 hectares with a total building area of 5595 m2 located in the Agro Techno Park Puslitkoka land area of 160 hectares. |
