| Summary: | Development of vertical housing in Semarang has grown rapidly in recent three years. However the scale of eleven apartments which developen in Semarang are limited to single tower and developed on infill site with range of area 3000 – 6000 m2. In this case of final design project, apartment which will be designed refers to the thriving trends of apartment development in Semarang based on market study and analysis in Semarang thus proportion of room unit and facilities will be adjust the demand appropriately. Particularly in this design case study apartment which will be designed in bigger site than any other apartments in Semarang in order to accomodate assumptions that related to building placement that harmonious with its surrounding, maintaining privacy of its inhabitant, and accomodating needs of local citizen outside the apartment. Beside, this case of apartment development in this final project purposed to compare feasibility of investment roughly of development in large site over one hectare with existing apartments in Semarang which developed in less than one hectare site. Case Study of this Apartment taken place in city center of Semarang particularly in Jalan Gajah Mada, Central Semarang. Concept of apartment development are the harmonious with local context, contributed to its surrounding related to commercial and public facility, accomodating any social classes existed in local context of Jalan Gajah Mada. Output of this design project are apartment complex with total three towers which accomodating local context, maintaining privacy of its inhabitant particularly its visual privacy, available access to view, communal spaces intended to increase sense of community in internal context, dan providing integrated public and commercial that contributed to local communities and citizens thus the apartment can be socially accepted by locals. |
