| Summary: | Maternal and children’s health problem are still relatively high problem in Indonesia, especially in major cities such as Medan, North Sumatera. Based on data from Medan Public of Health in 2014, maternal and infant mortality progressively increasing every year. The data indicates that government’s attention about maternal and children’s health is still lacking. This problem can also be seen from the number of women and children’s hospital that was not balanced by the number of pregnant women and childbirth in Medan.
Special hospital for women and children designed as an effort to reduce maternal and child mortality. The main problem is how to create a hospital that has a healing environment and meet the criteria of therapeutic environment. The hospital also must meet standards of hospital construction guidelines set by government. Thus, this draft is expected to provide solutions about problems that related to maternal and children’s health.
This project is located at Gatot Subroto, Medan, North Sumatera with 11.000 m2 area. This hospital that consists of four floors was designed as a special hospital facilities class C with 96 inpatient beds, NICU, and PICU. To apply therapeutic environment, this hospital was designed with the atmosphere, color, zoning, air circulation, and natural light. |
