Yogyakarta-NETPAC Film Center is a thematic movie mixed-use building at Depok, Sleman District, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. This building complex have two main functions as a cinema and production house for film industry. Thus, this building should be a meeting point for film maker and society to interact with a public outdoor cinema as a place. Network for The Promotion of Asian Cinema (NETPAC) and PT Graha Layar Prima are the stakeholders for this project. This building should bring NETPAC’s and Local Industry’s ideology for a more productive film industry. Main aspects that become a concern in design are: urban context from the site that be included in Greater Yogyakarta Planning; site context thab be at he road’s hook; Blitztheater standards and social context from Yogyakarta’s society that still bring javanesse culture on their daily life. Architectural solutions is needed to answer these issues. Such as dividing the design being cinema zone (public) and office zone (private). Local expressions application with using batik kawung as secondary façade. Than applying alun-alun concept to solve social issue on the site. Besides, functioning as cinema and production house, this building have some other functions such as shopping retail, gallery restaurant and café. All of these functions should make this building sustains better.
