Summary: | Ethical climate in organization is an important role in shaping the employees relationships and behavior. Those who shape the ethical climate in organization can not separated with the role of the leader and his/her relation with the members. This research was conducted to analyze the organization through ethical climate model in order to finding issues and improvement in ethical climate perspective. From the ethical climate questionnaire that physically spread to 32 samples out of 40 teachers population has found several result in each dimensions especially in personal morality dimension with the low score compared to another dimensions. And supported by in-depth interview with headmaster which result showed that leadership style affecting teacher’s personal morality, such as the difficulty on arguing and giving opinion during meeting because of the strict headmaster as a leader. As the first in-depth interview with headmaster found a result in leadership style, meanwhile the second in-depth interview with teachers as for strengthening and finding more information regarding the leadership style has found several result which is some improvements for the new headmaster’s leadership. The interviews with teachers are based from theories that are used in this research, which are leader-member exchange (LMX) and connective leadership. As the final result in this research is improving the new headmaster’s leadership based from the in-depth interview with teachers. While the recommendation given for headmaster based from leader-member exchange (LMX) and connective leadership theories as leadership improvement is creating a better relationship exchange between leader and member through informal and formal activities. |
