Three-Dimension Gait Analysis of Transfemoral Amputee Subject Walking On Treadmill Using 3 Types of Prosthetic Knee
Walking is an activity that supports humans to meet their daily needs. However, not every human being performs walking normally because one leg is not intact due to an accident and illness that requires the leg to be amputated even above the knee. Above-knee amputation patients (transfemoral amputee...

Above-knee amputation patients (transfemoral amputee) prefer to use prosthetic legs compared to using assistive devices such as crutches. Therefore, gait analysis of transfemoral amputee patients is needed in order to produce good quality prosthetic legs. Gait's research was carried out by the ITB Biomechanics Research Team to develop a gait data collection and analysis system at affordable prices. In previous studies, data retrieval systems have been developed for normal subjects walking on treadmills. Then, normal subject and amputee subject data retrieval protocols have been developed so that research is standardized. The ITB Biomechanics Research Team has made prosthetic knees with the name 4-bar linkage D2. In this study, this prosthetic knee will be compared to other prosthetic knees that sold on the market. The results of this study in the form of gait data analysis of transfemoral amputee subject which included spatio-tempral and kinematic parameter data and then compared with the normal subject gait database owned by the Lab. Biomechanics ITB. As feedback, an analysis was also carried out on the Prosthesis Evaluation Questionnaire that had been filled by the subject of transfemoral amputee. This questionnaire is a subjective parameter to obtain information on prosthetic knee performance. text |
