Description
Summary:Based on the history of the tsunami in Indonesia, there is one tsunami classified as extreme in Flores Sea on 29 December 1820, from this historical record is used as basic in this tsunami modeling research. This research use COMCOT v.1.7 model with verification from the historical tsunami Flores 1820 in Wichmann Catalog entitled "Earthquake of the Indian Archipelago until the year 1857". This research use three data consist of bathymetric data as the result of assimilation of the data GEBCO 30 arc second with the results of the map digitization, then combined with topographic data derived from SRTM 15 arc second, and the tsunami parameters are taken from tsunami Flores 1992. In this simulation is conducted two scenarios, the difference of the two scenarios are on the tsunami parameters. The first scenario use parameter from Flores tsunami of 1992 and in the second scenario there is slight modification to the parameters Flores 1992 tsunami. The results show the distribution of the maximum tsunami height and arrival time. In the first scenario, the result of high tsunami in Bima area by 2.91 meters and the arrival time of 28.9 minutes, Nipa-Nipa area of 0.73 meters and the arrival time of 41.9 minutes, and Terang-Terang area of 3.37 meters the arrival time of 48.9 minutes. While the second scenario provides tsunami height in Bima area of 3.84 meters with a time of 30.4 minutes to arrive, local Nipa-Nipa 0.95 meters and the arrival time of 43.7 minutes, and Terang-Terang area of 4.39 meters the arrival time of 50.7 minutes. The results of the second scenario is closer to the historical records of tsunami Flores in 1820, by a difference about 14-20 meter high tsunami. The difference is caused by the lack of data in the historical tsunami Flores 1820.
