Summary:Adsorption refrigeration system is a kind of refrigeration system that requires a heat resource to operate. The system uses adsorption bed as compressor replacement to increase the refrigerant pressure. Adsorption-bed used the adsorption-desorption phenomena to increased refrigerant pressure. An adsorption bed must be heated and cooled intermittently to keep going on the continuous refrigeration cyclus. The mechanism of adsorption bed requires valves to adjust the direction of the refrigerant flow. This research develops a control module to simulate processes controlling of adsorption refrigeration. An adsorption refrigeration simulator was built to simulate the process controlling. Simulator was developed by using a thermoelectric cooler (TEC) to heating and cooling bed adsorption, 6 solenoid valves were used to adjust the direction of the refrigerant flow, and 2 cooling fans were used to help regulate the temperature of heating and cooling. Process controlling was developed by using an Arduino Uno which is integrated to LabVIEW. On/of control technique on the TEC and proportional control on the cooling fans were used to regulate the adsorption-bed temperature. An simulator application can controlling the process in three options modes, that is manual mode, timer mode and auto mode.
