INTERNAL CONFIGURATION DESIGN OF GLIDER GL-1
The development of the national glider aircraft, named GL-1, has been conducted since 2014. The full-scale GL-1 prototype is planned for completion in 2019, with the first flight in 2019, and implemented at the PON XIX, 2020. Fabrication of the full-scale prototypes requires detailed design of the aircraft, one of which is internal configuration design. The internal configuration design is carried out in three steps. The first step is to conduct a study of requirements based on airworthiness regulations EASA CS-22. The second step is to conduct study on literature and comparable aircraft to obtain the configuration design and cockpit layout as well as the configuration and initial sizing design of the control mechanism. In designing the GL-1 aircraft, it is necessary to study the requirements that can be applied to the aircraft. After obtaining applicable requirements, only the relevant requirements for the cockpit design and control mechanism are selected. However, it was found that not all requirements are doable in this final project, because there is information or data that does not yet exist to solve the requirements. Thus, only applicable, relevant and doable requirements will be used and solved in the design of this final project. The cockpit of GL-1 is designed by conducting literature studies and studies on 44 comparable aircraft. This study was carried out because of the lack of information in the literature. Based on the results of the study, cockpit layout, panel instrument configuration and layout, and cockpit layout and control have been designed. In designing the control mechanism, configuration selection must be accompanied by initial sizing in order to meet the requirements. Configuration was chosen after a study of 18 aircraft manuals and two homebuilt aircraft plans. The results of the design are control mechanism configuration, layout, movement, and dimension, and control stick force magnitude and directionn. text |
