Description
Summary:Research on the storage device with a thermoelectric cooler done by a Thermo-Manufacture group research in ITB has resulted Purwarupa 0, Purwarupa 1, and Purwarupa 2. Purwarupa 2, as the most recent research, is a vaccine storage device that uses two cascaded thermoelectric modules as a development of the previous prototype. The temperature target of 5±3 °C was achieved by Purwarupa 2, but there is no exact operational standard and control system that maintains the temperature to remain in the range. At this final project, the development of Purwarupa 2 is done on several aspects; the vaccine room design, the cooling load calculation, the use of phase change materials, a research on thermoelectric characteristics, and variations of thermoelectric modules’ operational standard. This development therefore is called Purwarupa 3. Cooling performance final testing is conducted on Purwarupa 3 by measuring air temperature inside the vaccine room. The use of cold gel, the earlier operation of the bottom thermoelectric module, and the temporary shut-off of the upper thermoelectric module on a certain temperature results temperature stabilizing ability of Purwarupa 3 in 5±3 °C range for 4 hours.
