Description
Summary:Cogeneration system is an integrated system which produces two forms of energies that can be used to fulfill energy needs in facilites or infrastructures. The cogeneration system is suitable for: industrial areas, recreation centers, shopping malls, residentials, and other public areas. Therefore, this final project was conducted to design cogeneration systems that potentially suitable for shopping malls. Surveying one of shopping malls in Jakarta had to be done to acquire building’s electrical load and cooling load charactersitics, also area of cooling. Such data obtained are used for selections of components that can be assembled to create four alternatives cogeneration systems for shopping malls that independently generating electrical power with excess power to be sold to National Power Grid. The result of this final project was the best model of cogeneration system from four models that had been compared one another from aspects such: thermal efficiency, system reliability, and annual life cycle cost. This model has 0,87 thermal efficiency ; 0,86068 to 0,94965 reliability ; 80,9 billion IDR annual life cycle cost ; 25,4 billion IDR annual income from selling electricity surplus to National Power Grid.
