Description
Summary:This experiment simulates the process of well acidizing on API 5L X-65 steel in 1 M acetic acid with a variation of temperature and inhibitor concentration, using corrosion wheel test method to determine the phosphate-based green inhibitor inhibition efficiency (EI). The test was using the temperature 45°C, 60°C, and 75°C, using two variations of concentration, which are 50 and 100 ppm. This test was conducted for 24 hours. The test shows that the temperature increase lowered the inhibitor efficiency significantly, while doubling the inhibitor concentration from 50 to 100 ppm did not affect the efficiency significantly, due to the saturation of inhibitor in higher concencration. It is concluded that phosphate-based green inhibitor reach 82.14% efficiency in 45° C medium, and it is able to be used as corrosion inhibitor on acidizing process using 1 M CH3COOH.
