| Summary: | The number of informal transport, called omprengan in District Cimanggis increasing since the year 2000. Among the existing omprengan shelter in the region of Cimanggis, Cibubur shelter is the largest one. For some citizens of Cimanggis, this informal transportation is quite help them for daily public transportation to and from office, because they provide convenient facilities, safe and relatively quickly deliver them to the office. This study aims to critically reflect on the dynamics that occur in the citizens on transportation planning made by the government. The research uses a qualitative approach with exploratory study design using the principles in the case study method. Data obtained through field observations, interviews, and document research. The obtained data were analyzed using Thirdspace by Edward Soja. Based on the research results, the author concluded that the background of the thirdspace formed by omprengan motivated many things, the Indonesian people have the creativity in solving the problems they face, the flexible character of the Indonesian against prevailing laws and regulations, and public transportation systems are still not effective for the citizens. |
