Evaluation of Exhaust Gas Emission for Mixed Bioethanol and Premium Fuel On Otto Motor Carburetor System (7K) and injection (1TR-FE)

To anticipate the lack of fossil fuels, alternative fuel has been developed to replace fossil fuels. One of the alternative fuel used is bioethanol which derived from vegetable oils. Bioethanol derived from renewable natural resources, such as sugarcane juice, corn, sugarcane, cassava, potato, wheat...

One of the alternative fuel used is bioethanol which derived from vegetable oils. Bioethanol derived from renewable natural resources, such as sugarcane juice, corn, sugarcane, cassava, potato, wheat, etc., so that the amount of bioethanol supply will be unlimited. However, the use of Bioethanol fuel must be tested first. Especially on emissions and performance (power, torque, and fuel consumption) produced. Testing is done using a type of motor gasoline carburetor and injection (EFI) is considered to represent the actual conditions in Indonesia. Emissions resulting from the tests showed a decrease amount in emissions of CO for 2% - 26% and CO2 1% - 3%, but showed an increase in HC and NOx. Use a mixture of gasoline and bioethanol likewise reduce fuel consumption levels for 3% - 6% .And provide improvements in peformance test (carburetor type). Overall, the use of a mixture of 10% ethanol to give the best effect in this test. text
