One of the environmental problems faced by the oil and gas industry is soil contamination due to hydrocarbons. Soil washing is an effective remediation technology to solve this case. The results of soil washing process is wastewater generation from washing solution. Washing solution that is usually used in the process of soil washing is surfactant. The surfactant that is used in this study is Tween 80. The result of soil washing wastewater has a high content of organic compounds derived from hydrocarbons and the washing solution itself. Advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) with UV/TiO2 is one of wastewater treatment that is growing and it is stated to be one of the most effective one. Photocatalytic oxidation process is applied due to its ability to remove organic compounds with very high efficiency. The main objective of this study was to determine the optimum conditions, both the length of UV irradiation and the optimum dose of TiO2 catalyst needed. This study also discussed several factors that affect the process of AOP UV/TiO2, which were pH value and dissolved oxygen From the research conducted, it was found that the optimum condition for the sample type I is 0.1 g/l dose of TiO2 and the length of irradiation time was 30 minutes. As for the sample type II, the required dose of TiO2 0.6 g/l with the irradiation time is 10 minutes. The efficiency of each sample was 63.27% and 80.56%. Beside UV irradiation time and dosage of catalyst, pH and dissolved oxygen also affect the process of AOP UV / TiO2. Neutral pH provides the greatest reduction of organic matter then the pH in the acidic range and last is alkaline pH. While the effect of dissolved oxygen is dose reduction of catalyst and the optimum irradiation time. text
