Description
Summary:Seginim district is a part South Bengkulu Regency, Bengkulu. Research area is located in restricted forest zone of Bengkulu Province with 72 km2 of area of research within UTM northing 9518000-9527000 and easting 292000-300000 in Zone 48S, WGS84. This research consists of fieldwork, laboratory analysis, and studio woks. Research area is a part of Zone V which lie from NW to SE on the western foothills of Barisan Mountains. The landscape of research area consist of hills, valleys, and ridges which are mostly caused by the geometry of intrusions and structural geology formation. Drainage pattern consists of radial and rectangular streams. The lithology of research area consists of several volcanic rocks such as Pyroclastic Breccia, Laharic Breccia, Lavas; intrussion rocks such as Granite and Andesite; and transisional to shallow marine sedimentary rocks such as Carbonaceous Sandstone (Seblat Formation), coal, conglomerate, packestone, and calcareous sandstone which are deposited since Early Miocene. Geological structures of research area are interpreted developed in strike-slip and oblique tectonics zone with simple shear mechanism. Geological structures such as wrench fault, normal fault, thrust fault, and folds are interesting features of research area.
