Summary: | Geophysical research is carried out to understand and analyze the subsurface structure of the earth which involves measuring physical parameters of rocks and other materials in the earth. Geoelectrical method learns about the nature of electricity in the earth by flowing DC electricity (Direct Current) into the ground. This research aimed to find out the location, accumulation, and spread of leachate contamination through resistivity values with Wenner array configuration. Data acquisition had been carried out in the around Sarimukti landfill area, Cipatat District, West Bandung Regency with total of ten (10) lines with electrode spacing ranged from 2.5 to 5 meter and length ranged between 80 and 160 meter by using multielectrode system. In this research, the geoelectric data processing was begun with processing field data by using a systematic calculation method with apparent resistivity equations to get pseudo resistivity values from each measurements of points.
Data processing had been conducted by using inversion process with Res2dinv software and supporting software such as surfer, googleearth, global mapper and photoshop. The results were interpreted and analyzed in 2D profilling. Based on the results of inversion and interpretation, it was estimated that almost all of material in each track measured were dominated by leachate contaminants. They were silty soils, silty and sandy soils, clay soils, sandy gravel with silts which had the resistivity value ranged 0.02 to 180 ohmmeter had been found at a depth ranged from 2 to 31.3 meters. The result of inversion and interpretation on nine line was dominated by solid waste and isolative material contamination by leachate which had a resistivity value ranged 1,192 to 7,451 ohmmeter had been found at a depth ranged from 2 to 31.3 meters. The accumulation of leachate contamination was estimated flowed and spread to eastward, southwest, south and southeast according to the area landfill sloping down to south and southeast.
The results of this research was success in determining and showing that the location, accumulation and spread of leachate contamination. Mostly this leachate contamination dominated in five, eight and ten line, each of which was located at coordinates 6o48'17.06"S to 107o20'56.08"E, 6o48'16.42"S to 107o20'52.29"E, 6o48'10.89"S to 107o20'50.03"E, 6o47'53.73"S to 107o20'53.48"E. They were located at 676.26 meters, 835.46 meters, 731.85 meters and 280.39 meters respectively away from the main gate or located to the north, west and east of the leachate pool. Residents in this area Sarimukti landfill were advised not to consume ground water around the landfill Sarimukti in order to avoid a potential health risk of leachate contamination impact which has contain toxic substances and hazardous chemical of materials. |
