So far the monitoring that was done by the government are only in the form of physical and chemical monitoring, but this method can not measure directly how much exposure that been occurred. This study uses a fish (Liposarcus pardalis) to analyze the concentration of heavy metals in the upstream Citarum River. The fish was taken from three points, which are Koyod, Sapan, and Dayeuhkolot, sampling was conducted in March 2014. The samples of water, sediment, and the fish meat is taken and then analyzed using FLAA (Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer) to know the amount of Cu, Cd and Pb heavy metals concentration. Results showed that the concentrations of Cd and Cu in water samples at Koyod and Dayeuhkolot region were still under the quality standards and for Pb all water samples had concentrations above the value of the standard. The standard used was based on the West Java Provincial Regulation No. 39 In 2000, with the highest concentration values obtained of 0.026 mg/l for Cu, 0.010 mg/l for Cd, and 0.248 mg/l for Pb. While in the sediment sample just one point at Koyod, 1,102 mg/kg of cadmium metal, and two points at Dayeuhkolot region, 1.173 mg/kg of cadmium metal and 32.021 mg/kg of copper metal which are above the standard. As for the metals Pb, both regions do not have a result that is above the quality standards, according to the Ecological Risk Assessment, Freshwater Sediment Screening Benchmark. In the fish sample (meat) of three regions all have concentration value below the quality standards for Cu, exceeding the quality standards at some point for the metals Cd, and are above the quality standard on all samples for Pb. Metal concentrations in fish samples was compared to the quality standards set by the Decree of Director General POM No. 03725/B/SK/89. text
